For three consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024), the Petroleum Engineering major of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) is in the top 51-100 in the world on the university rankings by field of QS Ranking. In particular, there are many fields in which the University participates in training and achieves high positions in this ranking.
In 2024, QS ranked 55 majors in 5 fields of nearly 1,600 higher education institutions from 96 countries. QS just announced the ranking results on the afternoon of April 10th.
The results of ranking by training major of VNU-HCM recorded many significant advances when 11 majors were ranked. Among them, 06 majors of HCMUT that have participated in training appear in this ranking with high positions.
Specifically, only the Petroleum Engineering industry group is in the top 51-100. This is also a major in Ho Chi Minh National University that only HCMUT offers, belonging to the Department of Geological – Petroleum Engineering.
Besides Petroleum Engineering, 05 other industry groups for which HCMUT has implemented training programs are also ranked:
Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Top 351-400 (Electrical – Electronics Engineering major).
Chemical Engineering: Top 401-430 (Chemical Engineering).
Environmental Science: Top 451-500 (Environmental Engineering & Natural Resources and Environmental Management).
Computer Science and Information Systems :Top 451-500 (Computer Science and Computer Engineering).
Business and Management Sciences: Top 501-550 (Industrial Management major).
