On the afternoon of October 15th, 2024, a delegation from Kühne Logistics University (KLU), Germany, led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan, President of KLU, visited and held discussions to formalize a partnership with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), a member of the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM).
In attendance from HCMUT were Assoc. Prof. Mai Thanh Phong, President of HCMUT, and representatives from the university’s faculties, departments, and the Office of International Education.
At the beginning of the meeting, representatives from both universities provided an overview of their respective institutions’ strengths, particularly in logistics and supply chain management. They also summarized the collaborative efforts between the two institutions to date.
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in May 2024 and a cooperation agreement in August 2024 to establish a joint Master’s program in Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management, this meeting saw the signing of a detailed contract. This agreement outlines the structure, management, and operation of the joint Master’s program. The contract leverages the educational strengths of both KLU and HCMUT, playing a key role in fostering a highly skilled workforce in logistics and supply chain management both in Vietnam and globally.
During the meeting, both parties expressed optimism about the program’s success. They also discussed and outlined specific plans to ensure the program’s timely launch, aiming for the first admissions intake in 2025. This visit reaffirms the strong partnership between Kühne Logistics University and HCMUT and marks significant progress in their collaboration.
