A welcome speech by HCMUT Vice President – Assoc. Prof. Pham Tran Vu

At the meeting, following introductions to each institution, university leaders shared their vision and future development plans. They explored potential academic cooperation areas such as student and faculty exchanges, joint supervision, international conference coordination, and collaborative research and publications in engineering and technology domains such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, semiconductor microchips, biotechnology, and biomedical technology.

According to representatives of educational institutions, universities all have policies to attract international students through scholarships, tuition, and accommodation support giving priority to Vietnamese students, who account for the largest number of international student communities in Taiwan.

Leaders of four Taiwanese universities took turns sharing potential cooperation between the parties.

According to Vice President Assoc. Prof. Pham Tran Vu, this support generates great motivation for HCMUT’s students, who wish to study at these universities. Recently, the implementation of the education internationalisation at HCMUT has had certain effects, so given the Taiwanese universities’ willingness to cooperate with HCMUT, it is expected that there will be more breakthroughs in cooperation between the parties in the future, bringing practical values to learners, Vice President – Assoc. Prof. Pham Tran Vu went further to share.

After the face-to-face meeting this morning, the parties will organize additional online discussions to concretize cooperation items suitable to the strengths and conditions of each party. Nevertheless, an official document like a memorandum of cooperation is necessary to promote collaborative engagements.
