The Department of Heating and Refrigeration Technology (under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT)) coordinated with the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and members of ASHRAE Vietnam to organize the ASHRAE Vietnam 2024 Symposium on “Design of pressurization systems and air treatment technologies for clean rooms” on the morning of March 9th, 2024.
After more than two months of implementation, the Symposium gathered more than 100 attendees, most of whom are representatives of companies operating in design consulting, construction contractors, equipment suppliers, etc., and Air Conditioning in Vietnam.
At the Symposium, Mr. Wei Sun-senior expert in cleanroom consulting and design of ASHRAE presented two topics that attracted the attention of Vietnamese businesses, including:
Topic 1: Design of Pressurization System – Technologies in Room/Suite Pressure Control, Performance Evaluation and Design Practices.
Topic 2: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Air Handling Systems Design Strategies for Controlled Environments.
These two topics are relevant to modern air treatment technologies and engineering to ensure strict clean room requirements currently receiving lots of attention from many important industries producing semiconductors, microchips, electronic components, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, etc. After Mr. Wei Sun’s presentation, lecturers and business representatives posed many questions, creating a lively discussion space for guests to share more technological perspectives, issues, and details.
The Symposium also allows lecturers and companies working in Heating and Refrigeration to exchange and introduce their activities, thereby developing an extensive network ranging from exchanging academic information, research, and development to practical applications.
Also in the Symposium, Mr. Giang Cao Tuan – Director of International Bach Khoa Company, representing the core members of ASHRAE Vietnam, presented more about the activities of the international ASHRAE over the past 100 years as well as the practical benefits for those becoming a member of ASHRAE.
At the end of the Symposium, Dr. Ha Anh Tung – Head of the Department of Heating and Refrigeration Technology, thanked the speaker – Wei Sun and all participating company representatives. Commemorative medals were also presented to Mr. Wei Sun, 06 sponsors, and members of ASHRAE Vietnam, who contributed to the success of the Symposium.
