On November 10, 2023, at 10:00 AM, the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the University of Technology – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UT-VNUHCM) and Kwangwoon University, South Korea took place at UT-VNUHCM.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Shin Choong-il, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department – Ministry of Education and Training; Prof. Jongheon Kim, President of Kwangwoon University, along with the delegation including leaders from the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications and the International Cooperation Office of Kwangwoon University.
On the side of UT-VNUHCM, the signing ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong, Rector of UT-VNUHCM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Thang, Vice Rector of UT-VNUHCM, as well as representatives from related faculties (Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering) and functional departments (Office of International Relations, Training Department, Science and Technology Project Department, International Training Office).
The two parties have signed the Cooperation Agreement as a basis for implementing practical activities such as academic exchanges, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative training in the future.
During the signing ceremony, both parties discussed the possibility of cooperation in the 2+2 model of Semiconductor Engineering. This field is considered one of the high-demand sectors for high-quality human resources in Vietnam. It is hoped that this collaboration can provide opportunities for training and supplying highly skilled professionals in the semiconductor engineering field to meet the increasing demand in society.
