This course is specifically designed for the students of School of Industrial Management. The course aims to develop the communication skills that the students need to succeed in realistic management and business situations. It is most suitable for the students who are at the pre-intermediate language level.
The coursebook includes 12 units, 5 of which are chosen to be taught in class. The other 7 are designated as extra lessons for students to learn on their own. Throughout the course, the students are encouraged to use their own experience and opinions in order to maximise involvement and learning.
Role plays are regular features of each unit. There is a regular focus on key business functions, and each unit ends with a motivating case study to allow students to practise language they have worked on during the unit.
