The course is designed to provide students with foundation knowledge of computers, computer-based information systems, and the understanding of their applications in business context. Students also strengthen the skills to use computer applications to improve personal work efficiency such as presentations, word processing, and data processing.

The course includes computer literacy; computer-based information system; Internet; and their role in business. The course also includes the trends of information technology and their implications for business. In addition, the content of the course also includes practice of Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel softwares to help learners manage their personal work effectively.

  • Demonstrate the ability to use software applications to process long documents, database, spreadsheets, presentation files
  • Identify new and emerging technologies that affect business activities and the issues about the information security

This course helps students understand how computers work and understand how businesses use computer-based systems to gain a competitive advantage.
