The course provides knowledge and skills which help students developing their strategic thinking and long-term vision, and then determining a suitable direction to go for their business in long-term as well as managing its implementation process effectively later on. By systematic approach, students could be able to analyze and evaluate the external as well as internal environment of any enterprise to determine its opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses. Base on that, they could build up sustainable competitive advantages for the enterprise and achieve organizational goals.
Strategic management subject includes 7 chapters. It starts with primary key concepts in strategy and then going to strategic management process. In that, Chapter 2 presents the process of developing mission, vision, and strategic objectives for an organization; Chapter 3 and 4 focus on analyzing the strategic factors from external and internal business environment of an organization; Chapter 5 shows process of formulating and selecting appropriate alternative strategies in different levels by using strategic formulation tools; Chapter 6 contents on process of strategic implementation; and Chapter 7 goes with strategic control process.
The course “Strategic management” is an integrative and interdisciplinary course. It is concerned with managerial decisions and actions that affect the performance and survival of enterprises.
