On the morning of October 28, 2023, the University of Technology – VNUHCM proudly hosted the Semi-final round of the Euréka Scientific Research Award for Students in the field of Engineering and Technology, marking its 25th edition in 2023.
With the theme “Engineering and Technology” applied in daily life, the Eureka 2023 Semi-final round gathered more than 99 projects from 37 universities and colleges, with the participation of 287 contestants nationwide.
The participating projects showcased the diversity and creativity of students in the field of engineering and technology, with many projects having high practical significance and contributing to solving real-life issues. Among them, there are 09 projects from students of the University of Technology distributed across various fields such as IoT, medical technology, renewable energy, 3D printing, and more.
HCMUT welcomed PGS.TS Nguyễn Ngọc Lâm – Former Head of the Department of Electronics, Computer and Automation Research – Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Đoàn Kim Thành – Director of the Youth Science and Technology Development Center in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Phạm Hồng Ngọc – Head of Office of the Student Affairs Council of VNUHCM. The event was attended by PGS.TS. Trần Thiên Phúc – Vice Rector and Mr. Phan Quốc Thái – Secretary of the Youth Union along with a panel of judges consisting of leading scientists and experts from prestigious universities and research institutes across the country, as well as contestants.
Representatives from HCMUT who participated in the judging panel included PGS.TS Nguyễn Tấn Tiến – Director of the National Key Laboratory of Digital Control and System Engineering; PGS.TS Nguyễn Tường Quân – Director of the Research Center for Equipment and Mechanical Technology; TS. Nguyễn Hữu Nhân – Head of the Department of Transportation Engineering; TS. Hoàng Minh Trí – Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; TS. Hồng Đức Thông – Deputy Head of the Automotive – Power Machinery Department, Faculty of Transportation Engineering.
