Signing a cooperation agreement with Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital

On the morning of October 27th, a delegation from the University of Technology, led by Associate Professor Dr. Mai Thanh Phong – the Rector, along with leaders of various departments, visited Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital for discussions and the signing of a cooperation agreement on education, scientific research, and technology transfer.

The delegation from the University was welcomed by the representatives from Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, including Dr. Vo Duc Chien – Director, Dr. Do Tuan Linh – Deputy Director, Dr. Le Cao Phuong Duy – Deputy Director, Dr. Luong Cong Minh – Deputy Director, along with leaders of various departments and divisions.

In recent times, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital has taken its first steps with the University of Technology through several projects with the Industrial Management Department and the Biomedical Engineering Physics Department (Faculty of Applied Sciences). Dr. Vo Duc Chien stated that this is the premise for both sides to enhance comprehensive cooperation in the future, especially in the context of strong digital transformation impacting hospital management and healthcare services.

With a large number of patients and data to handle on a daily basis, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital always requires the intervention of information technology to improve accuracy and optimize workflow. As a leading institution in engineering and technology education with a team of knowledgeable faculty members and researchers, the University of Technology is ready to collaborate with Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital in conducting research to address the hospital’s challenges, as stated by Associate Professor Dr. Mai Thanh Phong.

There are several potential areas that both parties can implement, such as applying information technology in healthcare management, creating a hospital financial operations dashboard, developing medication management software and patient reminders, building electronic medical records, providing chatbox consultation for patients, conducting equipment evaluation, consultation, and maintenance, and researching materials. During the ceremony, representatives from the Computer Science and Engineering Department and the Industrial Management Department also shared their research strengths and proposed cooperation plans for maximum effectiveness.

Associate Professor Dr. Mai Thanh Phong evaluated that implementing these tasks requires a lot of resources in terms of materials, time, and personnel. Therefore, the university and the hospital need to actively develop specific action plans in the near future.
