The Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) brings its integrated circuit (IC) products to the International Exhibition on Vietnam Innovation

The inauguration ceremony of the new facility of the National Innovation Center (NIC) and the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition on Vietnam Innovation 2023 took place at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi on the morning of October 28th, 2023.

The International Exhibition on Vietnam Innovation lasted for 05 days (October 28th to November 1st, 2023) and gathered about 200 booths of many large technology enterprises in the world and Vietnam, research institutes, universities such as Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and Viet Nam National University Hanoi, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and so on.

The booth for HCMUT’s products attract more than 2,000 visitors after three days of exhibition.

VNU-HCM representatives were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan – the Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Cong – Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology and other members. The booth of VNU-HCM introduced a series of products related to semiconductor ICs, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Transformation in education, transportation, health science and biomedical engineering, OCOP products, and so on.

Coming to this exhibition, HCMUT, a university member of VNU-HCM, displayed more than 14 semiconductor IC products designed by its lecturers and researchers. HCMUT’s representatives consist of the Vice President – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Thang, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering – Dr. Huynh Phu Minh Cuong, Head of Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits and Systems Laboratory (RFICs Lab), and other researchers of the RFICs Lab shared with visitors information about training and research activities on semiconductor ICs.

HCMUT IC products and posters booth.

HCMUT IC products booth attracted more than 2,000 visitors after three days of exhibition. Leaders of governmental agencies and large enterprises such as Intel, Cadence, Renesas, Viettel, etc., came to admire semiconductor IC products and discuss potential possibilities for cooperation with HCMUT in training and research activities. Many students, pupils, and their parents also came to learn information about semiconductor IC-related training programs and career opportunities.

VNU-HCM signed a cooperation agreement with NIC on IC development and innovation.

VNU-HCM’s representative, the Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan signed a cooperation agreement with NIC. NIC accordingly will support VNU-HCM to establish the VNU-HCM Innovation Center and Semiconductor Research Institute (VSRI) as well as cooperate with VNU-HCM in research and training activities, human resource development, resource sharing, specialized software, and international and in-country semiconductor business community networking, etc. At the same time, VNU-HCM will coordinate with NIC to promote the NIC’s national innovation ecosystem, implementing training and education programs and attracting high-quality human resources from abroad.

The cooperation signing between VNU-HCM and NIC will open up many opportunities for research and training development in semiconductor ICs for VNU-HCM itself and other university members.  HCMUT claims itself as an excellent research and training center, has played a pioneering role in semiconductor ICs to expand cooperation networks, and coordinates with the government, businesses, and organizations to implement goals of nurturing talented human resources in semiconductor ICs in Vietnam.
