Toshiba Coporation Grants Scholarships to Outstanding Students At VNUHCM

On the morning of November 17, at VNUHCM Headquarters, Toshiba Corporation awarded scholarships totaling 1,400,000 JPY (over 9,362 USD) to 11 doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students from three VNUHCM member universities, marking a remarkable 18-year partnership.

The three PhD students who were recipients of fully-funded scholarships in 2023.

Specifically, each of the three doctoral students from the University of Technology and the University of Science received fully-funded scholarships worth 200,000 JPY per academic year. Additionally, eight partially-funded scholarships, each worth 100,000 JPY per academic year, were granted to doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students from the University of Technology, University of Science, and International University.

The Toshiba scholarship program is designed to support individuals pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at VNUHCM who demonstrate excellence in academic studies and scientific research, face financial challenges, and show potential for future leadership. Notably, this marks the first year that the Toshiba scholarship is available to undergraduate students, with two recipients in 2023.

Dr. Nguyen Thai Binh Long, Deputy Director of VNUHCM’s Department of External Relations and Project Development, expressed, “With Toshiba Corporation expanding the scholarship program to outstanding students at all levels of study, we hope to provide more individuals with the opportunity to benefit from this scholarship.”
