Vnuhcm Ranks Asia’s 80th For Academic Reputation

The UK’s Quacquarelli Symonds Education Organization (QS) on November 25 announced the results of the QS Asia 2021 rankings for nearly 650 of Asia’s leading higher education institutions. In which, VNUHCM was ranked 158th.

Notably, VNUHCM ranks first in Vietnam in two important criteria, namely Academic reputation and Employer reputation. These are the two criteria with the highest weight (50%) of the 11 ranking criteria for QS Asia University. Particularly, VNUHCM’s score for Academic reputation has continued to improve, putting the university in the 80th position in Asia in this criterion. 

QS Asia Organization ranks universities based on 11 criteria with different weights, namely Academic reputation (30%), Employer reputation (20%), Faculty/student ratio (10%), Percentage of lecturers with doctoral degrees (5%), Ratio of articles published to lecturers (5%), Citing per paper (10%), International research network (10%), Proportion of international faculty (2.5%), Proportion of international students (2.5%), Proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%), and proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%).

This year, Vietnam has 11 educational institutions ranked by this organization, an increase of three units compared to last year. China, Japan, and South Korea still have the majority of higher education institutions in the Top 1-50 of this ranking.”
