The government delegation from New South Wales, Australia led by Mr. Anoulack Chanthivong – Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology paid their first visit to meet and have a direct discussion with the representatives of the University of Technology on July 4, 2024. Accompanying the delegation was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tran Vu – Vice Rector along with the leaders of various units.
Here, representatives from both sides have spent some time discussing briefly about the cooperation between academic partners in Australia and the University of Technology. Since 1993, the university has established partnership relations in terms of training and research with many reputable universities in Australia and has been increasingly strengthening, upgrading, and diversifying the forms of cooperation in the context of internationalization of education.
The active collaboration among the parties has led to the success of joint training programs, student exchange programs, and collaborative research activities, exemplified by activities at the Center for Technology and Innovation Research Cooperation between the University of Technology Sydney and the University (HCMUT-UTS Joint Technology and Innovation Research Centre). The center was established in 2018, located at the University of Technology base in Di An, focusing on research areas such as cybersecurity, Internet of Things, smart cities, and blockchain technology, while promoting co-supervision activities for doctoral students.
Hoping that after this visit, with the good intentions from the New South Wales Government, the cooperation between the University and Australian academic partners will become more effective, improved, and innovative.
