Welcoming the HCERES accreditation delegation in France

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) was one of the first four universities in Vietnam to meet HCERES accreditation standards in 2017 with a 5-year validity period (2017-2022). Based on the comments/recommendations of the Evaluation Team in 2017, the University has planned to improve, upgrade, and innovate its overall activities.

As the re-evaluation cycle requires, HCMUT welcomed a 07 expert delegation of the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES), France, from November 27th – 28th,  2023.

In the first working session, the HCERES delegation interviewed the Chairman of the University Council and the Board of President and Vice Presidents about the university’s vision, strategy, core values, governance mechanism, and so on which was followed by the interview sessions with managers of faculties and offices, lecturers, students, alumni, graduate students, businesses, domestic and foreign academic partners and which ended up with the university’s facility tour to comprehensively evaluate and record the University’s improvement compared to the 2017 accreditation.

During the summary session, HCMUT President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong sent his honest thanks to the HCERES delegation for two very effective working days. The President also affirmed that international accreditation is one of the main areas in the strategic plan of HCMUT for the period 2021-2025. Welcoming the HCERES delegation this time is particularly important in the sense that through the comments of the evaluation team, the University can self-evaluate and improve its future action plans.
