On the morning of 17 February 2022, a delegation of the French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City led by Mrs. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser paid a visit to HCMUT, taking a lab tour and having a meeting with the Asian Center for Water Research (CARE).
The visit has been the first one to HCMUT since the end of 2021 when Mrs. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser started her mission as the Consul General at the French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
HCMUT counterparts receiving the delegation consisted of the President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong, Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Danh Thao, CARE Director Dr. Ho Tuan Duc, Vice Director of External Relations Office Dr. Vu Anh Quang, and other staff.
During the visit, the President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong expressed his wish for a successful office term in Vietnam to Mrs. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser. Also, the President conveyed his expectation to have more support from and companion of the French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in the years to come.
In response, Mrs. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser showed her gladness and pleasure in the HCMUT visit. She also highly appreciated HCMUT’s curriculum, R&D, and other activities and discussed related issues with HCMUT’s representatives.
Mrs. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser and her colleagues paid special attention to the CARE and RESCIF Consortium. During the meeting at the CARE, Mr. Marc Descloitres, the Director of Science presented IRD collaborative tools at the CARE. In addition, scientists at the CARE shared relevant R&D issues. The delegation also visited research labs for water analysis, wastewater, and research teams who study environmental toxins at the CARE.
