RMIT Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology are joining hands to implement collaboration initiatives.

On 30th October 2024, the University of Danang and RMIT Vietnam University held a ceremony to announce the establishment of a cooperative relationship, marking an important milestone in the partnership between the two institutions.

The announcement ceremony was chaired by Professor Iwona Miliszewska – Dean of the School of Science, Engineering & Technology at RMIT Vietnam, and Associate Professor Dr. Phạm Trần Vũ – Vice-Rector, with the presence of leaders from various departments and functional units from both sides.

The meeting was attended by the school’s leadership and the relevant departments and units from both sides.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on training initiatives and research projects focused on similar fields, thereby proposing useful initiatives and producing research outcomes with practical value. Additionally, both parties will work together to organise workshops, conferences, competitions, and events to create opportunities for networking, learning, and developing soft skills for students.

Among the potential areas for connection, Assoc. Prof. Pham Tran Vu particularly highlighted the Bach Khoa Innovation competition – a large-scale startup playground organised annually by the University of Science and Technology to nurture practical ideas and research projects from students and start-up teams. The organising committee hopes that RMIT Vietnam’s role as a partner will help promote the strategic goals of the competition by broadening its international scope and attracting more promising teams to participate in future editions.

Ms Iwona Miliszewska and the representatives of RMIT Vietnam expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration proposals from the school, stating that they would leverage RMIT’s partner network to support the Bach Khoa Innovation competition in particular and other innovation-related initiatives more broadly.

The signing of this collaboration affirms the commitment of both universities to the development of education and research, which is expected to bring numerous benefits to the students, faculty, and researchers from both sides.
